Transfer to Life
Do you remember the challenge continuum from chapter 8? It showed that some learning is relatively easy to do and use, while other learning is more difficult. Some of these difficulties relate to what you are trying to learn: the knowledge, skill, beliefs, or creativity challenge involved. But other difficulties relate to using your learning in real-life situations. You have to take steps to transfer your new capabilities from learning mode to action mode. To do, this you need to:
• Recognize the transfer challenge.
• Set up for success.
• Get allies.
• Celebrate while continuing to learn.
