Eleven. Filters and Effects
Using filters can be somewhat controversial. Even the term “filters” has gotten a bad reputation due to overuse on services like Instagram. I like to think that serious photographers used them first, and therefore we have the right to claim them as a legitimate device for making photos better—not just for the purpose of attaining likes and followers.
We have the power to make a photo look completely different with filters, but I’m going to stick to one of my previous statements: We should only be trying to enhance what was already there, not create something completely different.
