Part I. Introduction

This part of the book introduces the reader to the use-case pattern and the use-case blueprint concepts. It discusses the need to gain a knowledge base of what constitutes a good use-case model and how well-proven use-case patterns and blueprints can be useful for individual use-case modelers to speed up the process of acquiring such a knowledge base.

The first chapter of this part also provides an overview of Parts III through V of this book.

Part I ends by guiding the reader through a small use-case modeling example in Chapter 2. This chapter shows how you can use patterns and blueprints when developing a use-case model.
