Use Generative AI with Google Search
The traditional Google Search is changing forever, and it’s good news. Individuals who have Google Labs accounts have already been lucky enough to experience generative AI in Google Search. Many think it is revolutionary, including myself. The main reason? Less time spent looking for answers. When you are trying to find an answer on the internet, sifting through tens of websites and finding a common answer can be a challenge, especially when it is in a topic that you might not have any expertise on. The new AI-powered Search Generative Experience (SGE) makes searching for answers a breeze when compared to earlier search results. Let me show you how.
How to Access It
When you sign up for Google Labs, you should automatically have generative AI in your Google Search. To check that you have it activated for your account, you can go to https://labs.google.com/search/experiments and verify that you have the feature “SGE, generative AI in Search” turned on. In that menu, you are going to see other features such as “SGE while browsing” and “Code Tips,” as shown in the following screenshot. You need to only toggle the first one on to have generative AI in Search but after reading what the other two are capable of in the next section, you will probably want to toggle all of them on.
