Depending on whether your client requires your assistance beyond problem identification, the next phase in consulting is to apply problem-solving skills to find and implement solutions. For the purposes of consulting, problem solving is defined as the ability to understand and effectively focus on the root causes of a problem, not its symptoms or effects.
