Chapter 8 An Example from Poland: The Warsaw Entrepreneurship Forum
Warsaw is the largest city in Poland, with a population of over 1.7 million, and is that country’s seat of government. It has an area of approximately 200 square miles. It ranks in the top five among European capitals for foreign investment and is second only to Moscow in terms of anticipated foreign investment in the next few years. The city ranks among the top three of European metropolitan areas for its attractiveness for entrepreneurship. In addition, 30 percent of all of the companies in Poland that have foreign investment have their headquarters in Warsaw (Center for Entrepreneurship, 2014).
