Wealth inequality has put a strain on economies and societies around the world.5 We are only just beginning to feel its true impact. If left to fester, it will ultimately threaten the economic wellbeing of millions, if not billions, of people. It will undermine democratic institutions. It could lead to increased divisive behavior and resulting conflict. It likely will lead to increased isolation at a time when, more than ever, people around the world need to be working together on systemic solutions to “wicked” problems.
