2. Getting Comfortable with Snow Leopard
This chapter gives you an overview of working with the Snow Leopard user interface and two of the most used applications—Finder and Safari.
If you just upgraded to Snow Leopard from Leopard, you will see a desktop that looks very similar to your old one. This is because, as Apple says, Mac OS X Snow Leopard is “refined, not reinvented.” Although there are some features that do have a new look, Apple design engineers really focused on making Snow Leopard faster, more reliable, and easier to use. If you are a new Mac user, it’s all new to you, so let’s look at some of the basic features you are presented with when you start your Mac.
