Breaking Down a Function

A function is like a shortcut for using a long or complex formula. You’ve probably used the SUM function like this: =SUM(A1:A5). Without the function, you would have to enter =A1+A2+A3+A4+A5.

Normally, the syntax of a function is like this:

FunctionName(Argument1, Argument2, ...)
