Chapter 5. High Definition (HD) Health Data
Overview
Medicine and health is becoming more digitized and, just as with TV, the views of the individual are in spectacular high definition (HD). In his book, The Creative Destruction of Medicine, Eric Topol states that the “creative destruction of medicine is ready to go. It is because for the first time in history we can digitize humans.”200 The digitized data, representing a variety of types and coming from multiple sources is the high octane fuel for achieving highly effective and individualized prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases.
