MLIS from the University of South Carolina. Prior to becoming a librarian, Dr. Tolliver received
geology degrees from the University of Tennessee (PhD), Western Michigan University (MS), and
Michigan State University (BS), and worked as a geology instructor at the University of South
Carolina at Spartanburg. His primary interests in geology are paleontology and sedimentology,
with his dissertation research focusing on fossil diatoms.
