indicate that access to information can save lives, time, equipment, and improve safety (Osif, 2004).
One nal way to look at the value of information is that anything that can save engineers time in
doing their jobs, help avoid expensive or wasteful dead ends, save equipment, and improve safety
and efciency has real value. This translates into better work, better evaluation, and, most likely,
