An exercise programme needs to reflect the scope of an organisation’s business continuity, while paying due deference to any appropriate legislation and regulations that apply to its industry sector. Its primary objective is to ensure that all aspects of an organisation’s BCP have been subjected to an appropriate level of validation. It needs to start simply and gradually increase in complexity as the organisation moves out of its comfort zone, as it prepares to engage in all facets of validating, from simple desk checks to live rehearsals.
