Valuation of Walmart

Abstract

Walmart Stores, the American multinational retail giant operates a chain of discount department stores and warehouse stores. The first Walmart store was opened in 1962 in Rogers, Arkansas. It is estimated that more than 245 million customers visit approximately 11,000 stores in 27 countries and ecommerce websites in 11 countries in a week. In the fiscal year 2015, Walmart registered a net sales of $482.2 billion. The company employs around 2.2 million associates around the world. Walmart businesses consist of Walmart US, Walmart International, Sam’s Club, and Global ecommerce. Walmart’s operation distribution is one of the largest in the world.
