4K Resolutions and Sony Vegas Pro 9
As camcorders, imagers, and display systems progress, it’s only natural that resolutions increase. The RED camcorder, for example, offers a 4K image that is 4096 × 2304 pixels in output image size. Vegas Pro 9 supports the RED camera file format natively, and does so with a rather unusual grace. Even on a midlevel laptop with some tweaking, RED files can be edited directly off the RED Compact Flash cards, RED drive, or transferred files on a hard drive, while maintaining a full frame rate playback. In other words, with a proper computer system, Vegas Pro 9 can manage RED files much as it manages DV files.
