We’re going to take a break from making games about people and cover some other subjects for a while. I want to return to the idea behind the game we made back in Chapter 5 called Cannonball Carl.
There’s so much potential in that simple game, and I want to show you a different way of playing a game similar to that—where you have a ball and blocks. Instead of a cannon, the player will control a paddle. This type of game is often called a ball and paddle game. This will give you more good experience with a game loop, collision detection, and fast gameplay, among other things.
