Evaluation is about looking critically at the session, at the end or shortly afterwards, in terms of the design and the facilitation. This will help you to learn and grow as a facilitator and demonstrates that you care about the quality of your sessions. To do this you should be curious about what worked very well and what you can improve for next time. We believe that it's very important that you don't come out of the meeting and only trust your own feeling about how it went. It's important to collect data and ask for perspectives from others. Those might come from other members of the planning team (if there are any) and/or the participants. Without this input, it can be difficult to find out what was effective.

Evaluation and feedback are always an opportunity to learn and grow, even though it can feel unpleasant to ask for feedback. Especially if you are new to virtual facilitation, feedback can help you to keep the good elements in your session and also give you an idea of what's not working. Even as an experienced facilitator there is always more to learn.
