Virtualizing IIS Proof of Concept
As Source Discovery continues virtualizing its tier-1 applications, it sees the various IIS servers it currently has running in production as low-hanging fruit. The company has decided that these miscellaneous web servers are quick wins to prove how virtualization can help them achieve quick gains in its server consolidation project. The IIS servers scoped for this round of migrations are front ends to many critical single-tier web applications. The requirements include a load-balancing solution, monitoring, and virtual machine–level backup and recovery because of the highly customized configurations involved in building these systems.
