Learning by Example: DatabaseExplorer
This application enables you to investigate the schema and data contained in an OLE DB– or SQL Server–compliant database. By specifying a connection string, the application will attempt to connect to the targeted database and then return a list of all the tables present. By using the Tree View control, you can expand each table to examine its column schema information or the actual data present in the table. You can also write SQL queries, issue them against the database, and view the resultsets in a different pane. The DatabaseExplorer application is shown in Figure 15.4.
