Chapter 6. Feature Tree

If you have ever bought a new car, you probably thought about what things you cared about in a car, including number of doors, exterior color, whether it was convertible or not, engine size, seat covering type, interior color, whether it was a hybrid or not, and the quality of the sound system. These are basically “features” of a car.

If you were to list these features and start to put them into groups such as exterior features, engine features, internal features, and audio features, you would probably identify new features you cared about. In fact, if you started to look at audio features and saw that you had only identified a “sound system,” you probably would think more about whether that meant a CD player, a DVD player, ...
