2. make quick fixes

The Quick Fix mode helps you correct the most common—and easiest to solve—problems found in photos. Like the Quick Fix pane itself, this chapter starts with general items like rotating and red-eye, then makes lighting and color adjustments, and ends with sharpening. Always work in that order. If you apply sharpening first, for example, your results will not look as good.

Before any fixes, the top-left photo suffers from the usual problems: red-eye, too-dark shadows, overly bright highlights, and a slight color cast.
