The Visualization Toolkit (VTK) is an open-source, object-oriented software system providing a toolkit of functionality for 3D data visualization. Because visualization inherently involves capabilities from computer graphics, image processing, volume rendering, computational geometry, human/computer interaction, and other fields, VTK supports these capabilities in an integrated, robust manner.
