Creating custom compliance rules for Windows

VCM divides compliance into two broad categories:

  • Machine group compliance
  • Virtual environment compliance

Machine group compliance

In this category, compliance is checked at the operating system level, such as for all the supported versions of Windows or Linux.

Virtual environment compliance

In this category, the compliance of the ESXi hosts, vCenter, and virtual machines present in vCenter is checked.
