The Basics

Before starting, you need to create the basic room you will work with initially. This is going to be an extremely simple object made of a few Booleans and a function-driven paint job. There is no need to get overly complex at this point; you want to get used to what the lighting models do and how they react and then move on to more intricate lighting work.

The Initial Setup

The first job, again, is to build the room. This will be accomplished mostly by using Cube objects. Before starting, make sure Units & Coordinates is set to Feet.

  1. Add a cube to your scene and set its size to

    • X: 15ft

    • Y: 8ft

    • Z: 15ft

    Then duplicate the cube and scale it down to

    • X: 14.5ft

    • Y: 7.5ft

    • Z: 15.5ft
