The Two-Face Bully

The private/overt bully can be tough to spot in the wild because this type of bully is first-team “all you” in public, but will humiliate and diminish you in private. Two-Face bullies want you to know they’re in power; they’re in charge, and you’re off balance.
TF and Jess met for their weekly update. A few days earlier, they had copresented to one of their biggest clients, and TF had publicly praised Jess, thanking her for letting him “ride her coattails.” She was feeling great as he began their meeting.
“How was the team’s meeting earlier today?” he asked.
“I received the update, and we’re tracking well. I thought I’d spend the bulk of this meeting updating you on that.”
