EXPRESSIVE FLOWERS

Who doesn’t love a beautiful and delicate flower? We don’t have to paint realistic flowers to achieve the happiness of fresh blossoms. This lesson introduces the technique of rolling our brushes to create an ethereal, petal-layered flower. Once you have the steps down, and with a little practice, you can use it to paint a wide variety of blooms.

Though the technique is simple, practice the rolling motion a few times until you are comfortable with it. Your brush should always be pointed away from you and then rolled toward you, so you will need to continue to turn your paper around as you create each petal.
