Vendor Classifications

By day, by night, awake to the competing might.

Vendors’ suppliers are commonly classified into the following three groups:

1. Transaction suppliers—They handle a single process, can be paid per transaction, and may be used for small, simple projects, or business transactions. Such vendors can carry out simple transactions, but complex projects are beyond their ability.

2. Niche suppliers—They handle several projects/processes and can be paid on the basis of outcomes. Niche suppliers are able to provide specific services. They have the expertise and the experience to meet the requirements of the buyer. Capability to understand issues pertaining to ...
