10. Integrating with Portals
Web portals have evolved considerably in the past several years. Modern enterprise portal software can aggregate static and dynamic content from various back-end technologies and allow business users to create dynamic websites by pulling together from a collection of portlets in a distributed environment running on a combination of UNIX-Linux/Java and Windows .NET platforms. Figure 10.1 shows a high-level architecture for an Enterprise Portal.
