Keeping an Eye Out for New Search Engines

Search engines are always popping up like mushrooms after a hard rain. A lot of them are “PFI” engines—Pay-for-Inclusion—that won't index your site unless you give them some money. I usually don't bother with those because I can't guarantee that the information I'm looking for will come from a site that can afford to pay to be included in every search engine that comes along. Others will index other sites, but will give preferred indexing and position to those that pay a fee. Sometimes I try those, and sometimes they work well (that is, they find the information I'm looking for) and sometimes they don't.
