2.2. Service Registry

As services propagate and the web of services discussed in Chapter 1 develops, the need for large-scale service registries increases, as well. Such registries enable Internet-scale service ecosystems. Service deployers can advertise or register their services in such a registry for discovery by service users. Service users can discover services to fulfill their particular need by querying the registry. Figure 2.7 depicts the relationship between ecosystem citizens and a service registry.
