3.4 Creating a deployment manager server
After you have restarted the base server and verified it as functioning correctly,
create a deployment manager server using the following steps:
1. Start the WebSphere Business Integration Server Foundation V5.1 for z/OS
customization dialog window by executing the BBOWSTRT CLIST as
described in “Creating a base server” on page 80.
See also 2.3.1, “Starting the BBOWSTRT program” on page 34 for an
example.
2. Type 4 in the Option field for Configure deployment manager node. Complete
the various tasks. Use the Techdoc paper WP100367 as a guide.

3. Generate the customization jobs and follow the generated instructions to
create the Deployment Manager server.
3.4.1 Installing WebSphere Business Integration Server Foundation
V5.1 for z/OS on the deployment manager server
After you create the deployment manager server and verify it as functioning
correctly, install the WebSphere Business Integration Server Foundation V5.1 for
z/OS components to the deployment manager server. Use the following steps:
1. Start the WebSphere Business Integration Server Foundation V5.1 for z/OS
customization window by executing the BBOWSTRT CLIST as described in
“Creating a base server” on page 80. Note the use of the prod(bbz)
parameter.

example.
2. From the customization window, type 6 in the Option field. The Add-On
Product Configuration menu will be displayed. See Figure 2-5 on page 35.
3. Select option 1 to start configure WebSphere Business Integration Server
Foundation V5.1 for z/OS.
4. In the Option field, type 2 for Define variables.
5. In the Option field, type 1 for System Locations.
For this scenario, we install the WebSphere Business Integration Server
Foundation V5.1 for z/OS components into the deployment manager server
which does not have security enabled. See Figure 3-11 on page 98.
a. Ensure the server home directory is set to the deployment manager
directory.
b. Specify the Install type: 3
c. Clear the Target server field.
d. Specify Security is enabled: N
Note: We skipped the BBODCFS job because we use the same zFS file
system to contain the deployment manager’s configuration data. However, a
separate file system could also have been used to contain the deployment
manager’s configuration data.
