G.2.1 Install the Lotus Domino Administrator
To install the Lotus Domino Administration Client, complete the following steps:
1. From Windows, double-click
w32n_allclient to start the install.
2. Follow the installation prompts. We accepted the default options unless
otherwise noted.
3. When asked for options to install, select
Domino Administrator.
G.2.2 Configure the Lotus Domino Administrator
To configure the Domino Administration Client, complete the following steps:
1. Ensure the Lotus Domino Server is started.
2. After installation, start the Lotus Domino Administration Client by clicking
Start -> Programs -> Lotus Applications -> Lotus Domino Administrator.
3. Follow the configuration prompts. We accepted the default options unless
otherwise noted.
4. When asked to enter the server name, we entered:
jganci1/itso
(<hostname>/<domino_domain> as configured when setting up the server).
5. When prompted, select a name as an identification. In our example, we
created an administrator during the Domino Server configuration named
admin.
6. When done click
Finish.
The Domino Administrator configuration is now complete.
G.2.3 Verify the Domino Server
To verify that the Domino Web Server is working, enter the host name URL in a
Web browser. You should see the Domino home page.
G.3 Configure Domino Server for SMTP
If you want to use this Lotus Domino Server as an SMTP mail server, configure
the server as follows:
1. Start the Lotus Domino Administrator Client.
2. Click the
Administration tab.
3. Select
File -> Open Server. Select <your_Lotus Sametime_server> from the
server pull-down list and click
OK.
