3.2. NEW ROLES FOR MANAGERS AND EMPLOYEES
Once management has chosen an on-ramp to Six Sigma, the real work is up to a collection of business leaders, team members, team leaders, and facilitators. Some people's roles may have martial arts names: Black Belt, Green Belt, and Master Black Belt. (Reportedly, these titles were coined by a Motorola improvement expert with a passion for karate.) Other roles will have more familiar titles.
3.2.1. Black Belt
All things considered, this is probably the most critical new role in Six Sigma. The Black Belt is the full-time person dedicated to tackling critical change opportunities and driving them to achieve results.
