In 2003, billionaire Arte Moreno made history by becoming the first Hispanic to own a major sports team in the United States, buying the Anaheim Angels baseball franchise from the Walt Disney Company.
Named one of Time magazine’s “25 Most Influential Hispanics in America” in 2005, Moreno, a fourth-generation Mexican American, made his money in billboard advertising and in the process revolutionized the industry.
