We're living in a golden age of innovation. Advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics, cloud computing, blockchain, and algorithmic decision making have changed everything from how we interact with each other to how we perform our jobs to how we grow our businesses. In today's economic marketplace, technology is a necessity that's woven into standardized processes across every industry.

But there's a catch.

For all the revolutionary ways technology has impacted the way we work, it's not a one‐size‐fits‐all solution. In the name of business agility, many executives believe technology is yet another must‐have tool to acquire, and they're closely watching what the competition is doing to keep up. When it comes to recruitment, however, the idea that implementing technology, adding software, or accessing better data should simply follow a “plug‐and‐play” approach is overzealous. It's more nuanced than that.

In reality, it's a combination of both new technology and optimizing people's ability to create value through human touch. It has to be both, and they have to go together. In a world dominated by an either/or mentality, we believe there's a way to strike a balance between adopting innovation, implementing technology, and maintaining a human approach to doing business.
