Authors’ prologue

As any teaching practice in higher education is multi-dimensional in nature, we can only touch on a small part of this educational reality in our book. Our focus is on the practical application of learning theories for adults, of which Whole Brain® Thinking constitutes the essence. All theories are to be integrated and made relevant to a facilitating learning and the quality of learning per se. With a view to determining quality, we propose that lecturers as higher education practitioners research their own practice. In this way a research-driven approach to teaching practice is promoted.
