8.4  Models of Meander Systems Containing Additional Shields

In order to reduce dispersion in meander slow-wave structures, additional shields are used between conductors of the meander electrodes (Figure 8.24). In the fabrication of microstrip delay lines, such shields can be made together with meander electrodes using, for example, the thin film technology developed for manufacturing of integrated circuits.

Short-circuiters or segments of microstrip lines can be used for connection of additional shields to the conventional shields of the microstrip delay line.
