Up to this point, everything I have talked about has primarily had to do with aligning your website strategies with the guidelines and criteria that Google has created in order to create a better and more organized web. Previous to the mobile boom that has taken place in more recent years, any discussion about achieving high Google ranking has been centered on desktop devices, such as home computers or laptops. But with one in every five people on the planet having an Internet-connected smartphone, Google has placed emphasis on making sure that the desktop version of your website translates to the mobile web.
When you align your web strategies with those recommended by Google, it's important to understand that doing so will render your site far greater rewards and preferential treatment, further empowering you to dominate online and achieve success.
Previous chapters mentioned that 95 percent of search traffic doesn't even search past the first 10 organic search results (i.e., the first page of Google). We also know that Google wants to direct you to sites that provide a great experience and relevant information based on your search query to stay aligned with its primary objective as a search engine. So this fact really simplifies Google's dilemma, because while Google is going to return 1,000 results for every search, only 10 or 20 will rank high enough to even get noticed by majority of web users.
