The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat is the official arbiter of the criteria upon which tall building height is measured, and the title of “The World’s (or Country’s, or City’s) Tallest Building” determined. The Council maintains an extensive set of definitions and criteria for measuring and classifying tall buildings which are the basis for the official “100 Tallest Buildings in the World” list (see pages 42–45).
What is a Tall Building?
