Tools Menu

This menu offers a handful of miscellaneous commands, most of which pertain to networking.

Map Network Drive

This command lets you assign a drive letter to a disk or folder to which you've connected over the network, as described on Section 13.1.2.

Disconnect Network Drive

This command summons a dialog box that lets you delete a drive mapping you've established using the Map Network Drive command.

Synchronize

You use this command in conjunction with the Offline Files feature described on Section 14.3; it brings your computer's documents up to date with the copies on the network. Synchronization also works with Web sites—you can update your laptop's copy of certain Web pages, for example, for reading on the train ride home.

Folder Options

The dialog box summoned by this command lets you change several global desktop-window options. You can read about these settings in detail starting on page Section 4.2.4.
