Installing Windows Deployment Services
Windows Deployment Services is installed as an update to Windows Server 2003 or added as a server role in Windows Server 2008 R2. The following procedures outline the basic installation steps for Windows Deployment Services. Refer to the appropriate guidance (listed in the section titled Additional Resources at the end of this chapter) for complete instructions and planning advice.

To completely install Windows Deployment Services on a computer running Windows Server 2003, you must first install RIS.
