10.6. Switch to User Accounts for Custom Network Security
You can configure Windows 7 to use user accounts for network connections instead of the homegroup password, which enables you to customize security for each account.
Windows 7's new homegroup feature is designed to make it radically easier to share data over a network connection because all shared data is accessible through a single password. However, what a homegroup makes up for in simplicity, it loses in flexibility. For example, although you can block anyone from viewing a file or folder, and you can apply read or write permissions to a file or folder, those permissions apply to anyone who knows the homegroup password.
