Removing Your Old Windows Files

When you're sure you want to stick with Windows 98 for the duration, you'll likely want to get rid of your old Windows 3.x or Windows 95 files (assuming you saved them during the Windows 98 install). Windows 98 can handle this for you automatically. Just follow these steps:

Select Start | Settings | Control Panel.

In the Control Panel window, open the Add/Remove Programs icon to display the Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box.

In the list box in the Install/Uninstall tab, highlight the appropriate option (such as Remove Windows 95 system files [Uninstall info]). See Figure 2.15.
