Reinstalling a Video Codec
If you have trouble with a specific codec, removing the codec and then reinstalling it will often solve the problem. Follow these steps to remove a video codec:

In Control Panel, open the Multimedia icon and select the Devices tab.

Open the Video Compression Codecs tree and highlight the codec you want to remove (see Figure 24.15).
