Preferences

Both the Computer Configuration and User Configuration sections of a GPO contain a suite of settings under a Preferences node. These settings are new additions to Group Policy for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista. They are intended to control areas of the computer that have not been available in past versions of Windows.

Chapter 12 provides full details on all of the settings available under the Preferences nodes, as well as the possible configurations for these settings. The following is a list of nodes that exist under the Preferences nodes:
