Adding a new domain controller to an existing domain

Once you install the first domain controller into your forest root, it is time to add a second domain controller to the domain. The process is similar to the steps required for configuring and installing the first domain controller. There are the usual system configuration steps that must take place, such as setting a static IP address, renaming the computer, and adding the AD DS role and tools. Because this is a second domain controller, it is not necessary to add the DNS server role if you do not want to do so.
