Chapter 8. Completing the Getting Started Tasks

After Microsoft Windows Small Business Server (SBS) 2011 is installed, you have the usual array of chores to complete, configure, and set up before your network is complete. Not all of these chores have to be done at once and some don’t need to be done at all, but you do need to review the list.

Start by opening the Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard Console (SBS Console). When you select Home, you’ll see the list displayed in the left pane shown in Figure 8-1. In this chapter, we’ll cover the items in the Getting Started Tasks section in order and then look at the items under the Network Essentials Summary, which appears in the pane on the right.
