Chapter 4. Planning Deployment
We’ve worked with system administrators whose idea of deployment is to insert the DVD into the new server and start installing. Well, that’s always fun, which is a good thing, since you’re likely to be doing it over and over again. In our experience, inserting the DVD (or however you actually do the installation) is the last step in the process. By the time you install, you should have already done all the planning, negotiating, and preparing that are the most important parts of a successful deployment.
