Summary

In this chapter we’ve covered installing Windows Server 2008 to a new computer, either by booting from an installation DVD or by using a PXE boot image and deploying across a network. Windows Server 2008 uses an image-based installation and provides the Windows Deployment Server as a built-in Server Role to allow for both standard and custom network deployments.

In the next chapter we’ll cover the process of upgrading an earlier version of Windows Server to Windows Server 2008.
