Customizing the Server

The final section of the ICT Wizard is used to add roles and features to the server, enable remote access, and configure Windows Firewall. Finally, we can now get down to actually setting the server up to do some real work. All the rest of this has just been getting ready.

We’re not going to cover the Add Roles option in the ICT Wizard because the whole next chapter is dedicated to installing and configuring Server Roles. We could also save installing features for that chapter, which we’ll cover there as well, but we think that one feature that Microsoft doesn’t install by default should be installed on every server—Windows PowerShell. So we’ll cover installing that here.
